Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Anxiety and Panic
Everyone has had to deal with anxiety in their lives. It is even said that a moderate amount of “performance anxiety” helps people to achieve their best results. However, anxiety can also become an overwhelming problem which takes over our lives. When this happens our ability to cope with a particular situation, such as flying on an aeroplane or going for a job interview can be seriously impaired, because we have gone beyond the natural level of “performance anxiety” to a level that actually undermines our ability to deal with the situation.

Anxiety actually arises from our thought processes. In any situation it is the thought of potential dangers that produce the symptoms of anxiety, rather than the actual dangers that may, or may not be present. Panic attacks can occur very suddenly and lead to feelings of fear that are out of proportion to the actual risks involved in a situation. Symptoms can include palpitations, sweating palms, tightness in the chest, trembling and even fainting. The individual may become literally frozen by their panic reaction and unable to react appropriately to their surroundings.

Using a combination of hypnotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy it is possible for you manage your anxiety and replace anxiety provoking thoughts with positive coping statements.
